Terms of Use

Effective November 1, 2026

These terms apply when you use the Gable Takeoff website, the estimator app on the web or from an app store, or the client configurator (together, "Gable Takeoff"). Gable Takeoff is provided by Patrick Fonbuena, sole proprietor, doing business as Gable Takeoff; "we" and "us" mean him and Gable Takeoff. By using Gable Takeoff you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

For reference only. Check everything.

Gable Takeoff is a budgeting tool. Its estimates, material lists, prices and drawings are for reference only. They are rough approximations, not a quote, bid, stamped drawing or guarantee. Gable Takeoff does not perform structural engineering, load calculations or building-code review. Its figures assume weld-up construction, and real needs vary by manufacturer, site, wind, snow and seismic loads, and local code.

Before you order materials, start building, or quote a price to anyone, you must verify everything yourself: quantities and sizes against your own takeoff; the engineering with a licensed professional engineer, who must review and approve the final design; code requirements with your local building department; and prices with your suppliers. You are responsible for every decision you make using Gable Takeoff's output.

Your account

Using the estimator needs a plan: a paid subscription or the free trial. If you create an account, use an email address you control and keep access to it, because that email is how you sign in. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time in Settings → Account.

Subscriptions and license keys

The Pro free trial

The Pro plan (formerly Business) can start with a 5-day free trial. No card is needed and you aren't charged. When the trial ends, so does access, unless you subscribe to a plan. The trial license key stops working when the trial ends; subscribing emails you a permanent key. We may limit free trials to one per person or business.

Client quote pages

From an estimate, you can send your client a link to a quote page. You're responsible for what the quote says: the prices, the terms, what's included and excluded, and how long it's good for. The quote is between you and your client; we only host the page and pass on their reply. When a client taps Accept or Request changes, that's a message to you, not a contract with us, and it's up to you to confirm the job with them. Anyone with the link can open the quote, so share it only with your client.

The client configurator

If you embed the configurator on your website, you're responsible for how you use the enquiries it sends you. That includes having your own privacy notice for your website visitors and following the laws that apply to contacting them. Prices the configurator shows your visitors are estimates under the same limits as the rest of Gable Takeoff.

Your content

Your estimates, rates, branding and logo remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run Gable Takeoff for you. For example, the configurator shows your logo to your visitors. Only upload content you have the right to use.

Acceptable use

Don't use Gable Takeoff to break the law, send spam through the configurator, try to get around license checks, interfere with the service, or access data that isn't yours. We may suspend or end access for anyone who does.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Gable Takeoff running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. We may add, change or remove features. Keep backups of estimates that matter to you. The app can export one from the Estimates tab.

No warranty

Gable Takeoff, and everything it produces, is provided "as is" and "as available," with all faults. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title and non-infringement. We don't promise that Gable Takeoff or its output will be accurate, complete, error-free, uninterrupted or right for your project.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using Gable Takeoff or from being unable to use it. That covers every kind of damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive, and losses such as lost profits, lost jobs, lost data, wrong or wasted materials, construction or rework costs, delays, and claims made against you by your clients or anyone else, even if we were told such a loss was possible. Where the law does not allow our liability to be excluded, it is limited to the fees you paid us for Gable Takeoff in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some places don't allow certain warranties or liability to be excluded or limited, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell signed-in users by email or in the app. Using Gable Takeoff after a change means you accept the updated terms.
